CENTRAL LUZON STATE UNIVERSITY (CLSU)
Central Luzon State University was established in 1907, located at Science City, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. The CLSU have 658 hectares of land, which made it one of the largest University in Central Luzon Region. CLSU also have 9 colleges, there are College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Social Sciences, College of Business and Accountancy, College of Education, College of Engineering, College of Fisheries, College of Home Science and Industry, College of Veterinary Science and Medicine, and the last is College of Science.
Furthermore, not only have a lot of colleges, but CLSU also have two schools. The first one is DepEd CLSU Elementary Lab. School, and the second school is University Science High School (USHS). Those school was built inside of CLSU and both of them are under college of Department of Education CLSU. The university provided the schools inside the university in order to help staff's children to get education near of their parent's working place.

School Profile
The second school is University Science High School (USHS) where my teaching demonstration was held. University Science High School, referred to as Central Luzon State University Science High School or USHS, is a science high school located inside the campus of Central Luzon State University (CLSU), in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. This school was managed under College of Education of CLSU.
The University Science High School, established by virtue of the CLSU Board of Regents under the Board Resolution No. 1622 dated June 14, 1976 as a prime school for students who want to pursue science and technology courses which the country needs for its massive and sustaining development programs. Right now, the students divided from grades 7-10 is for junior high school level, and grades 11-12 is for senior high school level.
Academic Support System
USHS itself has grades 7th-12th, and the classrooms which provided by USHS CLSU are very comfortable. Moreover, there are some facilities for the students in order to make learning and teaching run smoothly. The school provides facilities for each classroom, like air conditioner, fan, Television, whiteboard, students chair, dispenser, and sufficient light. Providing those support systems for the students, will make both teachers and students feel comfortable to learn in their classroom. Unfortunately, when I was there, the school were in renovation in their old building. But, the school and the university, which means College of Education still consider the student's convenience. They moved the students into several parts in schools. The students grade 8th-10th moved to old building of College of Education as long as their building still under construction. Then, student grade 7th, 11th, and 12th still in the USHS area.
Teaching System
All of the lessons here in USHS have one hour lesson. For each meetings, the teacher will have 60 minutes to teach the students. But, for grade 11th, English lesson, the teacher have 120 minutes to teach. When the teachers want to teach, they will make a powerpoint slides to show to the students. From the beginning until the class will over, they will follow the slides that they already made. In addition, each teacher gives importance to their students to get a lot of drills (exercise). There are two kinds of drills; one is not recorded (means that the score will not be input or record) and another one is recorded (means that the score will be input or record).
Materials and Other Learning Sources
The materials here in USHS already written in the Philippines Curriculum. The teacher will take a look at the curriculum and follow that materials to teach for the students. USHS is a science school, where the students here learn a lot of sciences and technology or usually called by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), so the teacher here also provide the materials connected into their basic skill in science. In addition, teacher usually use their book to have learning sources or they also usually use internet resources to get more authentic materials.
Measurements and Evaluation System
Learners from Grades 1 to 12 are assessed based on Written Assignments, Performance Assignments and Quarterly Assessments each quarter. In addition, each of that assessments have their own percentage that students should have in minimum.
Curriculum
The USHS use Philippines curriculum same like other school, namely K to 12. This curriculum means that the government provide this from Kindergarten to Senior High School grade 12th. So this curriculum will improve the filipino students to get full lessons as their take 12 years basic education.
Teaching Plan
After the observation, I decided to teach grade 11 in USHS. The material that I would teach was Properties of Well-Written Text. That material would be divided into two parts. The first part would be Organization, and Coherence. Then, the second part would be Language Use and Mechanic.
