Observation on Teacher

This section, will explain to you about the results of my observation before teaching demonstration. There are some parts of this section, there are:

Planning for Teaching

The first thing that my cooperating teacher do before going to the class was prepared about the lesson plan, then she prepared about the activity that she would use later at the class. Then, she developed the slides including the drills, and the explanation about each questions. The one that I noticed about the slides, she used less word for the explanation each slides. She was also searched about other resources of the discussions, and the drills and made it connected to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Preparing Lessons and Materials

Lessons and materials here in USHS already followed the K to 12 curriculum from Philippines Government. The government already stated and wrote all of the lessons for the whole semester in the curriculum. Then, teacher only have to prepare about the materials. As my observation, my Cooperating Teacher (CT) in grade 11th was not used the book as a references of the students, but she used it as her references to develop or find the materials to discuss with the students. But, when I was in grade 7th for the observation, my CT use the book for both students and teacher as their references. So, it will depends on which grade that my CT will teach, she will use different method to develop the materials. As a conclusion, she will use a lot of resources, like from book, and internet to find and develop the learning materials.

Observation on grade 11th

Teaching in Class

Starting from my Cooperating Teacher (CT) arrived at the classroom, she will greets the students, and the students also will greet her. Then, she will ask the students to clean their classroom by throwing all of the trash out of the class. After that, she will ask the students to sit properly in order to make them ready to learn with her. Moreover, she will begins the class with reviewing the materials and give them motivation to learn by giving the students some questions. The first quiz that she took will give her information about the level understanding of the students in certain materials.

Measurements and Evaluation

My Cooperating Teacher (CT) has criteria for the students' measurements, there are for written work, performance, and quarterly exam.
