Teaching Method

The University Science High School (USHS) use vary method for each class. It would be depend on the students behavior in one class. The teacher here also have to prepare the discussion session and drill session. Teacher at this school also consider many drills to the students and get a lot of discussion telling about the explanation of the answer of the assessment. This method of teaching help the students practice their skill of giving the argumentation, and also their cognitive skill to think the answer and the explanation about it.

In addition, before the teacher will get in the class, they should prepare their learning device, like laptop, and the media they used. It is so important to have prepared interesting presentation slides to the students so that the visual learner would be understand and feel happy while learn the lesson. Beside of that, teacher also prepare the gamification in their learning process. Moreover, the teaching method that teacher used will be depends on their own class. So that the classroom will not have monotonous.

Learning Materials and Innovation

In order to achieve learning objectives, teacher should consider their learning materials and innovation in certain class. Teachers here at USHS use variety learning materials, in order to follow the learning materials in K to 12 curriculum. But, to get more real feeling about the lesson, teachers here always put the authentic materials for the students especially relates to the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Even in my subject (English), teacher should consider to put a text relates to the STEM in order to make the students not to far from their basic major (in STEM).

Sources of Learning and Technology

Learning sources for each teachers here in USHS would be different. But, teachers here will find the sources from the book that they use. That would be their main sources, but the teacher will also find another sources from the internet to get an example relates to the STEM. Moreover, the technology that they use like the computer, google classroom, and etc. They always use the laptop or computer to present their slides and to show the exercise or video. The use of google classroom here in order to send the materials or quiz to the students easier. Then, also it become their group to communicate each other or to discuss something out of learning teaching process.

Authentic Assessment

The assessment here use written work, performance assignments, and quarterly assessment.
